AAP condemns closure of relief package scheme for DPs of POJK | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 4: Aam Aadmi Party Jammu Province condemned abrupt closure of submission of claims by left over families of displaced people of POJK who faced unprecedented homicide and migration immediately after partition of 1947 and thereafter due to hostile attitude of two neighbors. Addressing press conference Om Parkash Khajuria, Convener, Jammu Province said that the notification issued under reference no. DIP/J-21310/21 dated 28, January,2021 stipulates that no claim would be entertained after 10th February,2022 and the left over families feel dismayed at the apathetic and arbitrary decision taken by the concerned government departments. It is seen that a total of 36,384 families were registered for Rehabilitation package and these cases were approved accordingly in the year 2016. Out of total register cases, 20817 cases have reportedly been settled and remaining left over are yet to get their due rehabilitation package. DPs of POJK have only been paid one installment of INR 549692/= against a much announced amount of 25 lakhs. It is also worth noting that the highest court of law, Supreme Court of India, Suo motto, waived time limitation period for all accounts during COVID pandemic. Hence abrupt closure of Relief and Rehabilitation package to left over families will deny rightful claim to them unjustifiably. They said that the recent notification therefore issued by the concerned department to limit period up to 10 Feb, 2022 holds no ground of morality and needs to be nullified forthwith as demanded by various organizations of displaced people from POJK 1947. Justice delayed is justice denied literally caries no significance for them. |
