GDC Ramgarh observes 'World Cancer Day' | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Feb 4: To create awareness about cancer and remove the stigmas attached, Department of Environmental Sciences, Government Degree College Ramgarh, organized an Online Poster Making Competition on 'World Cancer Day', which is observed every year on 4, February. The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the college. Speaking on the occasion, she said that World Cancer Day is the one singular initiative under which the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. Cancers can be managed and even cured, especially if they are detected and treated as early as possible. World Cancer Day aims to prevent millions of deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer, and pressing government and individuals across the world to take action against the disease. The theme of World Cancer Day 2022 is "Close the Care Gap", which is about identifying and addressing the barriers that exist for many people around the world in access the care they need. Bhupinder Kour, Department of Environmental Sciences along with other committee members successfully conducted the event and encouraged the students to participate in the competition and the awareness campaign with full zeal. A total of twenty five students participated in the poster making competition. |
