Address Border Battalion aspirants' genuine issue on priority: Arun Prabhat | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Jana Yuva Morcha (JKBJYM) has strongly condemned the lathi-charge on border battalion aspirants who were staging a peaceful protest in support of their quite genuine demands. In a statement issued to media here today, Arun Prabhat President JKBJYM said that police resorting to lathi charge on peaceful protesting Border Battalion aspirants for their very just demand deserves condemnation in the strongest terms. Asserting that this is unacceptable in a civilized society, he sought Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha's immediate intervention and appealed to him to stop brutalities against Jammu youth. The Bharatiya Jana Yuva Morcha leader said that it is a matter of serious concern as the career of so many youth despite having qualified the physical test and verification is at stake. He said that the posts were advertised in 2019 after the announcement by then Home Minister Rajnath Singh but due to callous attitude of officers sitting at the helm of affairs the process for filling these posts were not completed despite conducting the physical tests and verification. Similarly, the same posts were re-advertised after two years in 2021 leaving a substantial number of aspirants ineligible under the new advertisement. Arun Prabhat urged the Govt to compensate those aspirants who have cleared physical test at that time. Not only this, there are a number of candidates who have become over aged and the government must also adequately compensate such candidates, he added. He reiterated his appeal to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and listen to the demands of protesting aspirants and compensate the affected border battalion aspirants adequately. |
