Police arrests three with heroin in Udhampur | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 18: Police have arrested three persons with contraband of heroin on Friday in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. A police spokesman said here that three drug peddlers in two different cases were arrested with 12.30 gm Heroin. He said the police party of PP Roun Domail Udhampur, led by Station House Officer, Police Station, Udhampur Inspector Chaman Gorka assisted by PSI Akhilesh Khajuria during naka checking, intercepted two suspicious persons. They were nabbed and when frisked, 7 gm heroin was recovered from the possession of Abhinandan Khajuria of Indra Nagar, Udhampur and Rahildeep of Barrian, Udhampur. Meanwhile in another case, police recovered 5.30 gm heroin from the possession of one Rakesh Singh, resident of near CEO Office, Udhampur while he was roaming in suspicious manner near a temple at Tikri. However, SSP Udhampur, Dr Vinod Kumar also conducted a crime review meeting at District Police Lines. Besides progress of Police Stations on tracing of missing persons, absconders, solving of theft and burglary cases and execution of court processes were also discussed during the crime review meeting. The SDPOs discussed various important issues of their sub-divisions, including the progress achieved on ensuring maximum disposal of cases. Kumar complimented the district police for switching over to 100 per cent police working on CCTNS portal. The efforts of district Police were lauded for enforcement of COVID-19 Containment Measures strictly. He said the SSP Udhampur has passed directions to all the officers for quality investigation and redressal of public grievances on priority. He also stressed on record building. |
