Civil Society concerned over bifurcation of Samba, Rajpura constituencies | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 5: Civil Society members of Jammu have expressed concern that Samba will get one more seat in form of Ramgarh constituency and for the same Ghagwal and Rajpura area is being bifurcated and merged with Samba and Rajpura constituencies. "Furthermore Ramgarh constituency will be reserved. Firstly Rajpura and Ramgarh areas have no geographical compatibility, social interaction and poor connectivity. Secondly 12 Panchayats of Ghagwal and Samba block are under the reservation for the last 30 years and be reserved for another period of 20-25 years, which will be totally constitutionally unjustified rather violations of the statues of the constitution," said the civil society members. The civil society members said that people are feeling harassed and agitated. Many meetings have been conducted and memorandum submitted to the commission as well the Commission and associated members with no action, they said. |
