Jammu, Mar 24: Young IAS, Ch. Mohd. Yasin Mission Director National Health Mission, J&K, who’s also having The Addl. charge of CEO, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna, son of the soil brought glory to UT of Jammu & Kashmir, by successfully effecting the executive education programme at The Harvard Kennedy School Cambridge, which is the public policy school of Harvard University in Massachusetts, United States. Being designated by Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Child Health Section) Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi, the talent, abilities, hard work and dedication of Chaudhary Mohd. Yasin brought laurels to UT of Jammu of Kashmir, of being nominated among candidates from 12 countries here for this important training programme prestigious Harvard university on 'Scaling Early Childhood Health Initiatives' together with 5 other Sr. officials and officers to attend the above education program. Others nominated by Government were: 1. Vikas Sheel, Additional Secretary & Mission Director (NHM) India, MoH&FW. 2. Dr. P. Ashok Babu, Joint Secretary (RCH) MoH&FW. 3. Dr. Lakshmanan Mission Director (NHM), Department of H& FW, Assam. 4. Dr. Arun Kumar Singh, Head of Department (Neonatology), AIIMS, Jodhpur. 5. Dr. Sumita Chosh, Additional Commissioner-ln/charge (Child Health, RBSK. AH,CAC & AD) Ch. Mohammed Yasin, however, got selected based on the exceptional work in J&K-NHM, done during the last few years. The patrons of this programme, The Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF) hosted the fifth and last year of this executive program on Scaling Early Childhood Initiatives, at the Jhon F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (HKS) and has worked in more than 50 countries and invested over half a billion dollars toward their mission to improve opportunities for young children growing up with social and economic disadvantage. The programme is not about early childhood itself, but also about the leadership, strategic thinking and other skills needed to bring initiatives focused on early childhood to scale. And, based on successes in Brazil earlier, the programme follows the success of a similar initiative run by the Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal Foundation and the Harvard Center on the Developing Child for which the Bernard van Leer Foundation has provided the funding. Attendees at early iterations of the course included members of the Federal House and Senate from multiple political parties, who together drafted a new law – the Marco Legal da Primeira Infância – on promoting early childhood development and started implementing to benefit young children. The key focuses of this training-exercise nevertheless were on leadership, strategic thinking and skills that are a core part of bringing initiatives focused on early childhood to scale. This programme took place from Sunday 13 to Friday 18 March 2022 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and this’s the last year of the course where representatives from Asia; and the delegations from Liberia, Israel, Turkey, USA, The Netherlands, Peru, India and Asia were also among others. On successful completion of the program, Ch. Mohd. Yasin also received a ‘Harvard Executive Education Certificate’. |
