Students enrolled under J&K Govt’s much hyped Himayat scheme feel cheated

Jammu, Mar 24: Over two dozen students today alleged cheating at a local run educational institution under much hyped centrally sponsored scheme through J&Ks Himayat program and held a strong protest against the management of the institution for cheating and playing with their future.
As per the details available with Early Times, the students at Kishtwar levelled serious allegations on GS Techno innovation Pvt Ltd, on misusing funds provided by the government under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Koshalya Yojana (DDU- GKY).
The students in Kishtwar District who were getting training for some courses like CRM, Basic computer, Basic English, Soft skills and Collection Executive under Dean Dayal upadhyay Grameen Koshalya Yojana provided by GS Techo Innovation Pvt Ltd at Hidyal Kishtwar.
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) aims to skill rural youth who are poor and provide them with jobs having regular monthly wages and is one of the cluster of initiatives of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India that seeks to promote rural livelihoods.
Students who are getting training from an Institute located near Hidyal Kishtwar levelled serious allegations against the administration of the institution.
One of the student said that at the time of admission they were assured by the management of the institute will going to provide training, job placements and monthly scholarship upto Rs 3500 added that their batch started in the month of November 2021, but they didn't get any Stephen till date.
He said that after inquiring about the same repeatedly as to why our accounts has been credited by less amount and management of our institution also collected Rs 100 from each student, they (institute management) didn’t give any satisfactory answers.
One of the student said that government is aim at providing them better training to earn their livelihood, but why these so called institutions misusing the government funds and let them to lurch and feed themselves.
They said when we raised voice against the less amount, the management of our institution thrown us out of Institute.
One of the Female student who belongs to Marwah, one of the far flung area of Kishtwar and was enrolled in the institution demanding justice and proper implementation of the government schemes so that poor people cannot suffered.
She said that she is spending money out of her own pocket rather than getting anything from the government or the institution.
Some students also alleged that the young and minor girls were bundled in a building named as so called “Hostel” at the mercy of the male guarding and residing inside the same building and called for a probe against the management of the institution for misuse and embezzlement of funds meant for the welfare of poor people.
They also said that many students are enrolled only in papers and didn’t attend any classes physically.
When contacted incharge of the institution fail to give satisfactory reply and try to distance itself from the controversy by defending itself by putting the blame on the government and the system.
