| Liquor smuggling bid foiled; seven arrested: Reasi Police | | | Early Times Report
REASI, Mar 30: Continuing the drive against illicit liquor Reasi Police arrested seven liquor smugglers and recovered 46 bottles of liquor along with other material from their possession.
On specific information a team of Police Station Reasi raided dhaba of Sukhdev Singh R/O Talwara near Lari adda and found five offenders consuming liquor in the dhaba and owner of the dhaba was found facilitating them. On this case FIR 82/2022 US 50 (a), 48 (f) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Reasi and investigations initiated.
Six bottles of liquor, some empty cans of beer and other material got seized from the shop. All the six offenders including the owner of the Dhaba were arrested. The arrested have been identified as Bodh Raj, Mohammad Aslam, Sukhdev Singh, Sham Singh, Rajeshwar Sharma and Vijay Kumar.
A team of police post Jyotipuram raided on a meat shop of Naresh Singh and recovered 40 bottles of 750 ml each of Whisky from the shop. On this FIR 83/2022 US.48 (a) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Reasi and investigations started. Naresh has been arrested in the instant case. |
