Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 31: A major fire broke out on Thursday in the woods of Trikuta Hills of Katra town in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. However, the pilgrimage to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine, situated in the Trikuta Hills, is moving smoothly despite the fire that broke out near Devi Dawar on battery car route, said an official. "As soon as the information of the fire was received, the team of officials of Shrine Board, Fire Department, Police Department, Disaster Management reached the spot and jointly brought the fire under control," said an official. He said that the cause of the fire is not yet known. The Shrine Board official said that on Thursday morning, a sudden smoke was seen coming out from the hills near Devi Dawar area on the battery car route, adding, "there was no effect on the yatra due to the fire incident." The team of officials from different agencies with the help of all gadgets and fire fighting equipment doused the flames to control it and prevented it from spreading, he said. "The pilgrimage to the cave shrine was smooth and no untoward incident or injury took place," said an official. |
