Kishtwar, Apr 13: Kishtwar District hospital is one of the busiest and overburdened hospital in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and caters vast areas spread of nearly 7500 Sq KM and at the same time lacks basic facilities as well as the infrastructure as a result of which the patients visiting the hospital faces lot of inconvenience.
As per the details available with Early Times, wheelchair at District Hospital Kishtwar lacks front tyre as a result of which the attendants accompanied the patients were forced to shift the patients by using the same wheelchair by holding it firmly on both sides.
“We don’t find any other wheelchair- so we left with no other option other than to use this available facility which lacks the front tyre” said one of the attendant accompanied the lady patient.
He said that the patient wasn’t able to walk as a result of which they were forced to make the patient sit on this wheelchair which is without front tyre.
Meanwhile as per the order issued by Director Health Services Jammu, two lady gynaecologist doctors were asked to report for duties at Sub District Hospital Gundow for one day in a week.
The Gundow hospital is around 65 KM away from District Hospital Kishtwar.
“Dr. Shabnum Laila, Consultant Gyane & Dr. Shafiqa Dar Consultant Gynae, both posted at District Hospital Kishtwar had to attend one day duty in a week on every Monday and Tuesday respectively” read the order issued by Director Health Services Jammu on 6-4-2022. Kishtwar District hospital is already facing shortage of doctors and heavy rush could be seen in the hospital complex where hundreds of patients could be seen lined up outside the rooms of doctors in OPD Block of District Hospital.
“We are already facing shortage of doctors- our doctors are already overburdened and it is not feasible to make the two lady doctors to ask for undergoing 130 KM up-down journey on a deadly and tracery Gundow road” said an official wishing anonymity added that the government should make permanent arrangements of doctors for SDH Gundow instead of subjecting the two lady doctors to unnecessarily harassment beside also called for filling of all vacant posts in District Hospital Kishtwar.
