GMGHSS Rajouri hosts quiz competition to mark Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti

RAJOURI, May 9: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School Rajouri hosted an inter-class quiz competition under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, here on the school campus. The event was organised on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, while Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rajouri, Imran Rashid Kataria was the chief guest on the occasion. Principal of Government Model Boys HSS, Rakesh Sharma, the Principal of the Host School, Abdul Raof Dar, besides staff members and students were present in the program. Speaking at the event, the school Principal, Abdul Raof Dar highlighted the life and contribution of Rabinder Nath Tagore and advised the students to take inspiration from his literary work and life to achieve their life goals. Principal Government Model Higher Secondary School Boys, Rakesh Sharma said that Tagore taught his countrymen to be proud of our nation, culture and ethos and also emphasised on education, learning and social empowerment. Addressing the event, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Imran Rashid Kataria said that Tagore was a poet, playwright, composer, philosopher and short story writer and he will continue to inspire millions of people in thought and action. He also spotlighted Tagore's versatile personality and also threw a detailed light on his life. " India and the world will never forget Tagore's contribution in the field of art and literature" he added.
In the end, the prizes were distributed among the Ist, 2nd and 3rd winning teams of the quiz competition. Shahid Rasool, Sr Lecturer of the school conducted the proceedings of the Quiz.
