Srinagar, May 9: Security forces arrested a “hybrid” militant in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Monday.
They said Tawheed Ahmad Haroon of Delina Ghat, Baramulla was arrested by joint forces at a mobile vehicle check post (MVCP) which was set near the Juhama crossing in the district.
“During checking the party observed movement of one person who was coming towards Kanispora. On seeing the party, the individual tried to flee from the spot.
However, the individual was tactfully apprehended,” a police officer in Baramulla said.
“Upon his personal search, a pistol, a magazine, and nine live rounds of pistol were recovered from his possession.”
“The terrorist obtained these illegal arms & ammunition with intent to carry out terrorist activities in Baramulla and its adjacent areas,” he said
A case under sections of Arms & UA (P) Act was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation was taken up, police said |
