Anti-graft agencies acting tough
5/11/2022 11:33:13 PM

During the past few months Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has acted swiftly on the complaints against the corrupt elements and has caught many government employees red handed while taking the bribe.
Besides middle rung officials the ACB has also acted against many big fishes that had remained untouched in the past. It’s not ACB only that has been acting swiftly the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also been taking the cognizance of the complaints that are being lodged with it.
In a nutshell noose has been tightened around the corrupt elements and they are no more invincible. The anti-graft agencies becoming active has changed the work culture across the government offices and has to an extent made the officials accountable. They no longer want to keep the files pending nor do they want to come under any scanner as they are aware that it can put them in trouble.
The anti-graft agencies have been provided with more teeth and they are doing their job well. But still lot needs to be done to end the corruption culture in Jammu and Kashmir as it still continues to be a deep rooted problem.
The ACB acting quickly on the complaints has led to more and more people coming forward to register their complaints. The genuine complainants haven’t been disappointed. The system in Jammu and Kashmir is on revival path as the officials no more enjoy the political patronage and the blessings of their political bosses, who always used to come for the rescue of their yes-men.
A common man is hoping that in coming days and months the system will become more vibrant. He is fed up of running from one office to another to get his simple work done. The work done by the anti-graft agencies has made him hopeful about things becoming better in near future. These agencies are functioning independently and are scrutinizing each and every complaint that is being forwarded by the common people.
The anti-graft agencies by carrying out investigations meticulously have proven it beyond doubt that where there’s a will there’s a way. One hopes that other departments follow the footsteps of the anti-graft agencies and ensure that common man doesn’t suffer and gets the benefits he deserves.
