Srinagar, May 17: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Tuesday urged Kashmiri Pandits not to think of leaving Kashmir as this is what the terrorists and their handlers desire. Kumar said that killings of Pandits are “plans of militants and their masters across”. Kumar who visited Kashmiri Pandits at Budgam today urged them not to think of migrating from Kashmir as this is the ploy of the terrorists which has to be foiled by all means. He assured Pandits of better and enhanced security cover and every help from the authorities during the coming days. Kashmiri Pandits who are protesting at Sheikhpora, Budgam, for the past six days against the killing of Rahul Bhat, a revenue department official who was killed by the militants in Tehsil office Chadoora on May 12, was told by the IGP that “the security grid will be further tightened very soon and the “terrorism would be eradicated from Kashmir”. “Everyone including police, Army and even local people will have to fight against terrorism. I urge you not to do anything that will make our enemy successful”, the IGP said. “To push you out of Kashmir is the plan of militants and their masters, which has to be foiled by you and us collectively”, he said. He said, attacking Pandit community in the valley is a ploy of the enemy to drive them out of Kashmir but "we will never allow it to succeed." "On behalf of the Army, Police and other security forces, I assure you that any shortcomings in security grid regarding the safety and security will be addressed very soon, " he said, adding that at the same time, terrorism will be eradicated”. |
