Will resolve all issues of Kashmiri Pandits within a week: Div Com Pole
5/17/2022 11:10:15 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, May 17: Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday assured Kashmiri Pandits that all their service related issues will be resolved within a week’s time.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole, who visited the protesting Kashmiri Pandits at Vessu Qazigund in south Kashmir today assured them that all their service related issues would be resolved within a week and their other demands will be taken up with the top officials of the administration.
The Kashmiri Pandit community members who are working in Kashmir under Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation Package (PMRP) have been up in arms since past one week in the wake of the killing of the Rahul Bhat, a Revenue official at Tehsil office Chadoora on May 12.
“I assure you that your issues related to jobs, place of postings, districts of postings, promotions and other related matters will be resolved within a week,” Pole told protesting Pandits and assured them all the possible help.
The Div Com said that militants have lost their strength of targeting important security installations which they used to do earlier and now they are attacking soft targets including unarmed policemen who visit their homes on leave.
“These killings are meant to create fear psychosis among minorities. I can tell you that the security environment in Kashmir is not what it was some 10 years ago. There is a lot of improvement,” he said.
Pole, who was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar met the Pandits at Vessue camp who handed over a memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner.
A few protesters were holding placards displaying slogans 'Relocate us to Jammu'.
