Early Times Report JAMMU, June 1: NSS GGM Science College under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan organized an awareness workshop on Cyber Jagrookta. The resource person was Mr. Vikas Razdan Cyber warrior. Cyber refers to the technology that includes systems, networks, programs, and data. And security is concerned with the protection of systems, networks, applications, and information. In some cases, it is also called electronic information security or information technology security. Cyber awareness refers to the level of awareness and understanding end users have about cybersecurity best practices and the cyber threats that their networks or organizations face everyday. Cybersecurity is important because it protects all categories of data from theft and damage. This includes sensitive data, personally identifiable information (PII), protected health information (PHI), personal information, intellectual property, data, and governmental and industry information systems. Security awareness training - also referred to as cyber awareness training - is the process of formally educating a workforce on the various cyber threats that exist, how to recognize them, and steps to take to keep themselves and their company safe. Cybercrime is any criminal activity that involves a computer, networked device or a network. While most cybercrimes are carried out in order to generate profit for the cybercriminals, some cybercrimes are carried out against computers or devices directly to damage or disable them. Some of the most common cybercrimes to watch out for Phishing ,Cyber Extortion, Data breach, Identity theft and Harassment. The most common cybercrimes committed against women during the pandemic are Cyber Stalking, Sextortion, Cyber Hacking, Cyber Bullying, Sexual Abuse (including sexually explicit and pornographic content against the victim), Cybersex Trafficking, and Phishing. Cyber-crime cells are the one track solution towards combatting and tackling cyber-crime. Now an act of cyber-crime is a punishable criminal act which may include acts of online stalking, online banking or credit card scams, hacking and proliferating software viruses. About 70 NSS volunteers attended today's workshop. And took pledge to make others also cyber aware. The workshop ended with an interactive session. |
