Conductor charred to death, driver injured as truck catches fire | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 1: A conductor was charred to death while the driver sustained critical burn injuries after a truck met with an accident and caught fire in Bandipora. The ill-fated truck dashed with a tree after the driver lost control over it and caught fire during midnight near Shilvat village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district resulting in serious burn injuries to conductor and driver. Both were removed to SKIMS hospital Bemina Srinagar where the conductor succumbed to his injuries while the driver is stated to be critical. The truck was also completely gutted in the incident. Police confirming the incident identified the deceased as 26-year-old Rakesh Singh, son of Darshan Singh of Chenni, Jammu and the injured as 28-year-old Ajay Singh, 28, son of Wardan Singh, a resident of Batote Ramban. |
