Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt PG College for Women Gandhinagar organises Induction Program

JAMMU, June 1: Department of Commerce, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government P.G College for Women Gandhi Nagar organised an induction programme to welcome the new principal of the College Prof. Minu Mahajan and honour the batch of 49 students of B.Com Sem 5 who successfully completed the training conducted by BSE Ltd on Mutual fund under the flagship program "Mission Youth" (Govt. of J&K).
State Head Skill Project BSE Institute Ltd, Narinder Abrol was welcomed by Prof. Mamta Kundal with a bouquet. Abrol has 18 years of gratifying experience in the whole spectrum of financial, social and education technology sectors. Kamal Sharma, the resource person of the training programme and author of the book "the piggy bank billionaire" was thanked by Prof. Rashmi in his absentia.
The rationale of the training program was to impart 360 degree financial training and skills to the students and make them job ready for successful career in the financial sector.
Mutual fund industry provides huge job opportunities and has tremendous scope for making a career in Mutual funds.
HOD Commerce Prof. Mamta Gupta welcomed the new Principal of the college with a bouquet and shared the journey of the department from 2013 to 2022, the tortuous path the department has walked on to reach the pinnacle of success.
Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan addressed the students and said that people outside the college consider the Department of Commerce as a showcase of discipline, talent and capabilities. Further, she explained that the road of success may not be easy and straight but it was not impossible. "I consider myself as an elder sister of a commerce family" she said and congratulated the students for wonderful performances, management and skills of managing the things in the best possible ways. She exhorted the students to maintain distinctive qualities as they are different. Shreya and Simran Kour conducted the proceedings of the programme. A colorful cultural programme was also presented by the students of the Department of Commerce. Formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Mamta Kundal. The event was organized by Dr. Deepti Abrol and Dr. Asha Rani.
