Jammu police shoot down payload attached with drone | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 7: Alert troops of Jammu police have shot down a drone spotted close to an international border and brought down the payload attached with it in and found magnetic improvised explosive devices in Kanhachak sector of Jammu. Additional Director General of Police Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh on Tuesday morning said that the BSF troops last night observed a drone activity in Kanachak area and fired few shots towards it. "Immediately police party was deployed on receiving the information and they followed the anti drone SOP in the general area," said Singh adding that at around 11 pm in Dayaran area of Kanachak, police party again observed the drone activity and fired at it. "The payload attached with the drone was brought down but the drone however, could not," the ADGP said. He added that the payload contained three magnetic IEDs packed inside tiffin boxes with timer set to different timings. "The IED has been deactivated and defused through controlled explosion," he said. A case has been registered in this regard, said the top cop. Earlier on May 29, Jammu and Kashmir police recovers magnetic bombs and UBGL grenades from the payload attached with the drone in Rajbagh area of Kathua district after they shot down the device. |
