JAMMU, June 13: The University of Jammu awarded Ph.D. degree in E-Governance to Guneet Singh Sudan S/o Dr Onkar Singh Sudan and Ravinder Kour R/o Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu. As per the notification issued the University of Jammu Shri Sudan has been declared qualified for the award of degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management by University of Jammu. He worked on the topic, "Factors Affecting Adoption of E-Government: A Study of Select Government Departments in Jammu & Kashmir," under the supervision of Prof. Varsha Mehta in The Bussiness School, University of Jammu. His area of research is focused on five Government departments of J&K i.e Finance Department, Housing and Urban Development Department, Tourism Department, General Administration Department and Transport Department. Shri Sudan has also published a Research Paper on "Adoption of Global Standards of E-Government in Government Organisations" in the FOCUS: Journal of International Business, January-June 2019, Volume 6, a Peer-reviewed Journal and listed in the UGC CARE list of Journals and indexed with Indian Citation Index(ICI), Google Scholars, CNKI Scholar, EBSCO, Cross-Ref, Summon (ProQuest), Research Gate, J-Gate and Scilit.
Guneet Singh is currently heading the E-Governance Initiatives of the University of Jammu and also Head of GeM, Services Wing, E-Procurement and Nodal officer of Poonch Campus. He is also Sr. Assistant Director of Centre for IT Enabled Services & Management and remained Incharge Director of the same. He is also the Executive Member of Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Centre (UESDC), University of Jammu. He started his career with an International experience of working as a Consultant in SEMCO Systems Group, Germany and handled prestigious multinational clients like TRW, Kaiserslaute, Commerz Bank AG-Franfurt, Crespel & Deiters KG &CO, Techem AG, CYRANO GmbH France, Keramag AG-Dusseldorf and Mercedes, Germany. Mr Sudan was one of the key members of the founder team for the establishment of Baba Ghulam Shah Badsha University, Rajouri and remained the first Education Advisor and Deputy Registrar.
Guneet Sudan contributed a lot in smart governance in the past in various capacities as Technical Advisor, Department of Tourism, Kashmir, Advisor (E-Governance & Modernisation) Shri Mata Vashino Devi Shrine Board, Katra for better governance, efficient management and in making systems robust and responsive. He also remained one of the Board of Governors of Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JKeGA). Mr Guneet remained Member, Project e-Mission Team (PMT) for implementation of e-governance Projects of Higher Education Department and also remained Member Administrative Reforms Working Committee constituted by Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department.
Sudan remained one of the experts on a panel of three member Project Evaluation Committee constituted by the Commissioner Secretary IT, J&K Govt to scrutinize IT related innovative plans/proposals submitted by District Development Commissioners/ Head of various Government Departments to the IT Department for fulfilling the objectives of e-Governance in the state. He also remained Coordinator of the team for automation of libraries of Raj Bhawan, Jammu and Kashmir with due appreciation from the Hon'ble Governor of J&K.
