Jammu, June 13: Ashish Upadhyay, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India alongwith A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC, Shri Manoj Kumar Singh, PS to Union Minister of Power, New & Renewable Energy, V.K. Singh, Director (Personnel), Powergrid and R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC presenting Winners Trophy to Powergrid team at Power Cup 2002 T-20 Cricket Tournament at New Delhi on 12th June 2022.
Powergrid won Power Cup 2022 T-20 cricket tournament after winning the final day-night match against NTPC by 6 wickets on 12th June 2022 at NMAKP Sports Complex, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. NTPC and Ministry of Power finished as 1st and 2nd runner up respectively. 9 teams including MOP, NHPC, NTPC, POWERGRID, CEA, IREDA, REC, EESL and PFC had participated in Power Cup 2022 which was hosted by NHPC. Ashish Upadhyay, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India alongwith A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC, Manoj Kumar Singh, PS to Union Minister of Power, New & Renewable Energy, V.K. Singh, Director (Personnel), Powergrid and R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC presented the awards to the winning teams and individual players for their performance. Speaking on the occasion, Upadhyay congratulated both the winning and runner-up teams for a thrilling match and further praised all the participating teams for their excellent competitive performance and sportsman spirit.
In his address A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC said that this tournament brought together leading Power CPSUs under Ministry of Power on one platform which is essential in strengthening the ties between all the Power PSUs.
Power Cup 2022, a T-20 cricket tournament was hosted by NHPC from 22nd May to 12th June 2022. The tournament witnessed large scale exciting cricketing action in 20 matches. Rahul Mani from PFC, Amit Meena from MOP and Arun Khatkar from Powergrid were declared as Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Best Player of the Tournament respectively amongst the other awards conferred for the tournament. |
