JAMMU, June 20: Shiv Sena asked the J&K Government to allow the devotees of Amarnath Yatra to move freely in tourist places, temples and markets of the state besides giving priority in services to the local people during the whole Yatra period as the holy Amarnath Yatra starting from June 30. Along with this, Shiv Sainiks, expressing full confidence in the deployment and security cordon of other security forces including Jammu and Kashmir Police, appealed to the devotees coming for Darshan to reach J&K fearlessly in record numbers and give a befitting reply to the terrorist organizations. Addressing media persons at Party’s Central Office in Jammu, Manish Sahni, President J&K Shiv Sena urged the devotees willing to perform Amarnath Yatra to be a part of the yatra fearlessly and seek the blessings of Bhole Baba. Sahni said that Shiv Sainiks will march towards Kashmir on June 29 to welcome the Amarnath pilgrims. Along with this, Sahni, while raising voice in favor of the local people associated with tourism business, asked the administration and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to allow devotees to visit tourist places and ancient temples of Jammu instead of keeping the devotees tied in the security cordon due to which the local traders would also get some relief from the ongoing recession period. Sahni asked the Shrine Board to give priority to the local people of Pahalgam who have been providing the services of tents, horses, Pithus on the Yatra route for decades. He said that the local people of Pahalgam allege that the local people are being left empty handed due to the promotion of contractor system by the Shrine Board while Amarnath Yatra is the biggest and only source of income for these people. Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, who is the Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, to shift the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board office to Base Camp Bhagwati Nagar and appoint staff equipped with all the information for the convenience of visiting pilgrims. Among those who were present include Meenakshi Chhibber, Vikas Bakshi, Chairman Rakesh Gupta, Vice President Balwant Singh, Sanjeev Kohli, Raj Singh, Geeta Lakhotra, Rajesh Handa and Dimple were present on this occasion. |
