Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 20: Rajan Gupta, Social activist and President Sarv Shakti Sena, Jammu and Kashmir unit has raised serious concern over the neglect of Jammu based tourism destinations. In a statement issued to media here today, Rajan Gupta said that despite Abrogation of Article 370, there has been no change in biased attitude of the J&K administration towards Jammu and its people. He said that Tourism Department remains busy 24X7 in promoting the Tourist Destinations of Kashmir and for the reasons not difficult to fathom it makes no efforts for promoting the tourist places scattered across Jammu Province. While tourist destinations in Kashmir are multiplying with each passing year, not a single new tourist destination has been developed in Jammu region. The Sarv Shakti Sena, Jammu and Kashmir unit President said that Surinsar, Mansar, Sanasar, Patnitop, Suchetgarh Border and many other tourism places which are already on the Tourist map are today craving for further development and enhancement as per the national and international standards but the administration seems to be least bothered. He asserted that these destinations need to be developed at least at par with that of the tourist destinations of Srinagar. Rajan Gupta appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and direct the Tourism Department to initiate multiple measures not for infrastructure development at already existing tourist destinations besides developing other potential destinations for tourism purpose so that Jammu also receives a tourist boom ultimately leading to economic boost in the region.
