Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 6: In a significant development, the Indian Army is all set to induct its fleet of indigenously developed multi-copters for hi-tech surveillance along the frontiers in Jammu and Kashmir, highly placed sources told the Early Times.
The sources said the multi-copters, ready for use, are equipped with the latest technology for round-the-clock surveillance along frontiers, in the wake of rise in infiltration bids from the enemy country.
“Apart from high-precision vision during daytime, the multi-copter will keep eye during night using infra red and other technical advancements,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Sharing the technical aspects of the new machines, he said: “The multi-copters have high altitude operability and long range recce apart from surveillance over night using thermal imaging and other features.”
The officials said the multi-copters are also capable of usage during anti terror operations in particular in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The most important use of the multi-copter is its operability during anti terror operations where its capable of sharing details of the terrorists with laser precision including geographical coordinates and how to neutralize them,” said the official.
The multi-copters are being inducted along the frontiers when Pakistan has intensified its sinister designs of sponsoring terror into Jammu and Kashmir through drones and tunnels in particular.
In the recent past, the Indian Army and the Border Security Force foiled numerous infiltration bids along the International Border and the Line of Control in the Union Territory.
The dropping of arms and ammunition using drones has emerged as a new threat to the national security whereas the multi-copter is expected to give a befitting reply to such nefarious bids.
The security and intelligence agencies have inputs that the Pakistan is conspiring for a major infiltration bids in the coming weeks ahead of the harsh winters and that “the multi-copter will add to the strength security forces in foiling such terror bids.”
