Jammu, Oct 8: In order to honor the supreme sacrifice, sheer courage, valor, grit and salute the bravery of our revered war veterans, the Army Public School Kaluchak organized a felicitation ceremony in collaboration with 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC and commemorated the brave hearts of the Indo-Pak war of 1965, 1971 and 1999 respectively. The award ceremony started with lighting of the lamp. It was followed by a patriotic song and dance performance through the medium of which a special tribute was offered to the brave sons of the soil and their family members. These gallant war heroes hailed from diverse regions and had acclaimed military decorations like- Shaurya Chakra (SC) and Sena Medal (SM) for their selfless sacrifice during the war. The families of 11 brave war veterans were honoured which received the award on behalf of- Hav Ravi Kumar, Hav Rakesh Kumar, Sep Rajinder Kumar, Rfn Kuldeep Singh, Gdr Sagar Singh, Hav Romesh Lal, Nk Rashpal Singh, Sub Jaspal Singh, Nk Nanak Chand, Rfn Prash Ram and Sep Jasbir Singh respectively. The award ceremony was witnessed by 140 NCC cadets from Junior Division, Junior Wing and Senior Wing and it instilled a moment of great pride and patriotic fervor in their hearts. Hem Lata Vishen, Principal, APS Kaluchak felicitated the war heroes and their families and also expressed her deepest gratitude to all the proud mothers of our martyrs. The ceremony was brought to a close by a vote of thanks, after which every one stood tall for the national anthem. Refreshment was served to all the NCC cadets after the culmination of the ceremony. |
