SCERT J&K organizes Five-day Faculty Development Program

JAMMU, Nov 5: A Five-day Faculty Development Program, organized by Department of Teacher Education, SCERT J&K, Divisional Office Jammu w.e.f. 1st-5th November, 2022 under the able guidance of Joint Director SCERT Hem Raj Pakhroo, concluded here at Jammu. The program was designed for the Teacher Educators of SCERT and DIETs with the objective of developing basic instructional and technical skills among them which are pre-requisites of an effective trainer. The trained and skilled trainers may lead to planning, designing and implementation of effective training programs.
The Program was well-knit, keeping due consideration of the needs of the participants and their professional development. It included sessions on Direct Trainer's Skills, Team Building, Performance Management, Presentation and Facilitation Skills, Life-Skills etc. The methodology of the sessions included Hands-on activities, Group interactions, Case Study, Physical Participation etc. The participants delivered group-wise presentations on the concluding day of the program.
The program was facilitated by the experts from different apex institutions including Dr. Reva Sharma, Director Trainings IMPARD, Jammu, Dr. J.N. Baliya, Head, Department of Educational Studies, CU Jammu, Rohit Kashyap, JKAS, Asst. Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. Ritu Bakshi, Associate Prof., CU Jammu, Dr. Aman, Asst. Prof. CU Jammu, Dr. Gowhar Rasool, Asst. Prof. CU Jammu, Dr. Mahesh Koul, Asst. Prof. SKUAST, Jammu and Vishal Ray, In charge CBIIM, JKEDI, Jammu. All the eminent Resource Persons delivered their expertise in interactive mode.
Joint Director, SCERT, Jammu, presided over the valedictory function in the presence of the faculty of SCERT including Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors. He impressed upon the application of knowledge and skills acquired by the participants, in the training programs to be organized in future. He also urged the participants to keep positive attitude towards attending such unique programs which are designed for their professional development and they should draw maximum benefit off the knowledge and skills provided by the experts.
The program was successfully accomplished by the team of Department of Teacher Education, comprising of Coordinator Rakhi Atri, Sr. Academic Officer, Associate Coordinator, Amit Sharma, Academic Officer Technical Coordinators Deepak Kumar, Academic Officer Dr. Sabeta Kohli, Sr. Academic Officer, Kuldeep Kumar, Sr. Academic Officer, Raj Kumar Sharma, Sr. Academic Officer, Abha Verma, Academic Officer and Yugal Kishor, teacher, under the overall supervision of Swaran Singh, Head AU II and Pawan Gupta, Head Teacher Education Department. The program ended with the feedback from the participants, by JD SCERTJ and their future planning regarding implementation of the skills acquired during the Program. Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Sabeta Kohli.
