| GMC holds meeting regarding "State Cancer Institute' | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 5: A meeting of the committee constituted by Principal GMC Jammu for early operationalisation of the upcoming 'State Cancer Institute (SCI)' was held today under the Chairpersonship of Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma Principal,GMC Jammu.
A detailed dicussion on the issues was held. Dr. Subhash Bhardwaj Chairman of the Lab. Services Committee briefed the members about the status of the establishment of Lab.Services at SCI. It was decided that the available space shall be utilised in a way so as to optimise its utilisation & services to the Patients. It was decided that there shall be no duplication between SCI & SSH. All the Lab.Services Deptts.shall have backing of the main Deptts. Similarly HoD Radiology pointed out the requirement of space for radiological machinery/ equipments. It was decided to have common radiological backup for both SCI & SSH & also pursue the matter of procurements with the JKMSCL. HoD Radiotherapy informed that the all the orders for the machinery/ equipments are in final stages. The Engineers were directed to make available the required supply of water & electricity at the earliest & also develop the landscape around the SCI. They were also directed to get the work executed in double shifts so as to enable the Deptt.to start giving services to the Patients at the earliest. It was also decided to complete the Surgical OTs as per the DPR and to constitute a team of Senior Surgeons to oversee the establishment of the OTs.The meeting was attended by HoDs, Med. Suptd. SSH/SCI,Faculty Members, Nodal Officer for implementation of MoU with TMC Dr. Jitender Mehta, Engineers, Accounts & planning Officers. |
