Mehbooba pinning hope on propaganda to regain limelight: Kavinder
11/12/2022 10:58:52 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 12: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Saturday castigated PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti for her acerbic statement against BJP accusing the party to subverting the Election Commission to an extent that it has lost its independent character.
The BJP stalwart was speaking after launching the blacktopping work in Jagannath Vihar colony falling in the jurisdiction of Ward No 52, here.
Ankush Gupta District General Secretary and Ajay Chairman Social Welfare accompanied the former Speaker of the J&K Assembly during the inauguration of the development work.
Kavinder said that people should not give heed to the uttering of PDP leader as she is trying to rebuild her lost ground because of her anti-national stances which she took from time to time. He said that the PDP leader is trying to rely on propaganda and bogus statements to mislead the people and get some kind of political mileage as every single entity in J&K knows that her party has lost ground and it has no takers in the UT of J&K.
"By making issues of non issues, she wanted to remain in limelight but the people in the UT of J&K are well aware of these tantrums of Mehbooba Mufti and therefore she won't be able to fool them once again as she used to do the same in the past", he said, adding that it is for the first time in the history of independent India that Election Commission and other constitutional bodies have been provided a free and fair atmosphere to work with complete independence.
Kavinder said that unlike the previous regimes which have the track record of rigging the polls in Kashmir, the elections held so far in J&K under the Modi government had remained fairly good with no allegation of rigging or any other known or unknown poll malpractice. He said that what Mehbooba is alleging is nothing but day dreaming because the fall of her party in J&K has proved to be a big shocker for her and therefore through such statements she is doing catharsis.
The former Deputy Chief Minister also met with people of Ward 52 and listened to their issues related to civic amenities. He said that several development works are in the pipeline and will be taken up in near future. He assured to take up all the issues with the authorities concerned for early redressal.
