J&K admin to seal 30 more Jamaat properties in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13: Even as the Jammu and Kashmir administration has started sealing properties of the banned Jammat-e-Islami in the Union Territory, around thirty more properties worth crores will be sealed soon. Highly placed sources said the State Investigation Agency has identified around thirty more properties in the north and south of Kashmir and that the same would be sealed in the coming days. It was reliably learnt the properties to be sealed in the coming days are worth around Rs 10 crores and that concerned police stations and the paramilitary forces were being “briefed about the security drill before the sealing of the properties.” “Sealing of such huge properties needs to be done without any law and order situation and thus the deployment of the police and paramilitary forces for such a massive exercise is needed lest any anti-national forces try to take advantage of the emerging situation,” said a senior official in the know of the matter. He said a “red entry” was supposed to be marked on the thirty odd properties that have to be sealed so that nobody is able to use or sell any such property. On November 11, the SAI claimed to have sealed nine properties worth more than ₹2.58 crore belonging to the banned Jamaat-e-Islami. The outfit was banned in 2019 for five years by the central government over anti-national activities. As per the SIA the properties were sealed as part of efforts to choke the availability of funds for secessionist activities and to dismantle the ecosystem of anti-national elements and terror networks hostile to India’s sovereignty. The properties were sealed in one specific district Shopian whereas in the coming days properties will be sealed in multiple districts of Kashmir. Sources said New Delhi was keen on speed up of the process of sealing of the Jamaat properties in Kashmir. |
