Differences crop up between Tara Chand, Manohar Lal on joining Cong immediately

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 29: Within a week after their expulsion from the Democratic Azad Party(DAP) led by Ghulam Nabi Azad, serious differences have reportedly cropped up between former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and former minister Dr. Manohar Lal over the future course of action.
Highly placed sources said that Tara Chand and Dr. Manohar Lal are not on the same page to rejoin the Congress party in the prevailing situation.
“While the former Deputy Chief Minister is in a hurry to rejoin the Congress party without any terms and conditions, Dr. Manohar Lal, who is a mass-based leader of Kathua district, is of the view to wait some time before taking any final decision”, sources said.
Reports said that a two-time MLA from Billawar and a former minister Dr. Manohar are exploring all possibilities including BJP before taking any final decision. “Tara Chand is mounting pressure on all those who resigned from DAP to immediately join Congress without any condition”, sources said and added that Congress leadership has asked Tara Chand that the party is ready to readmit all the leaders but without any precondition.
“Being a popular leader in his constituency Billawar Dr. Manohar has a clean image so many other parties including BJP have approached him but Tara Chand has the option of either Congress or National Conference”, sources said.
As reported earlier, Ghulam Nabi Azad has expelled Tara Chand, Dr. Manohar Lal, and Thakur Balwan Singh from the DAP with immediate effect for anti-party activities on December 22.
Highly placed sources said the trio was in touch with Congress leaders and they were luring other leaders of the DAP to rejoin the Congress party.
“They have already finalized their terms and conditions with the Congress high command to rejoin the party. At the behest of the Congress's top leaders, they were trying to convince other potential leaders of the DAP to rejoin the Congress party”, sources said.
