Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 27: The 74th Republic Day of India was celebrated with zeal and vigor today, on 26th January,2023 in the premises of Cluster University Of Jammu. This year Republic Day celebration is themed around 'Jan-Bhagidari (participation of people) showcasing India's military might and cultural diversity from the revamped Kartavya Path, as part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. The University function was restricted to a limited gathering of officials. Republic Day commemorates the spirit of independent and individual India. The day is celebrated to commemorate the adoption of Indian Constitution on 26th January,1950 when India became a sovereign state, declaring it a republic and from that day onward, every year 26th January is celebrated as Republic Day of India. Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu unfurled the National Flag in the university campus which was followed by playing of the National Anthem. Prof Bechan Lal, in his address paid tributes to the supreme sacrifices of our freedom fighters, and recalled that the day also commemorates Indian citizens' power to choose their government democratically. He expressed the University's commitment to work in solidarity towards realizing the dreams and objectives set out by our government for Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat towards making the campus, a hub of academic and exemplary excellence. He exhorted that the Republic Day Celebrations which have begun from 23rd January to include the birth anniversary of Subash Chandra Bose also celebrated as Parakram Diwas are a poignant revisit to honor the contribution of Netaji who gave power to the freedom struggle and fought till his last breath. In light of the above, Cluster University of Jammu has been organizing a string of social and cultural events to mark 75 years of India's Independence as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav showcasing the envisaged roadmap of 'Naya Atmanirbhar Bharat' towards Peace, Productivity, Progression and Prosperity. The 74th Republic Day Ceremony was attended by Registrar, Controller Examination, Deans of faculties, Dean Students Welfare and Principals of Constituent colleges. The programme was organised by the Office of Dean Students Welfare, CLUJ with the coordination of the NCC Coordinator. |
