74th Republic Day of India Celebrations at the University of Jammu

JAMMU, Jan 27: The 74th Republic Day of India was celebrated at the University of Jammu with great enthusiasm & patriotic fervour. It was attended by teaching faculty, officers, staff and students of the University of Jammu. Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu unfurled the National Flag and released the Tri-Colour Balloons in presence of Prof. Naresh Padha, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Prof Rajeev Rattan, Director, CDC, Prof. Parkash C. Antahal, Dean Students Welfare, Prof Vishav Raksha, Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee and other faculty and staff members of the University. Prof. Rai, greeted the University fraternity and said that University of Jammu is scaling new heights under the guidance and support of Chancellor Manoj Sinha.
He further highlighted the achievements, University has achieved recently that includes constitution of Women's Collegiate Board, establishment of the Incubation Innovation Entrepreneurship Skill Development Centre (IIESDC) with the Verticals i.e Entrepreneurship Development, Skill Development and Career Planning, Business Incubation and Innovation (BII), Industrial -Academia Partnership and there is also a paradigm shift in education wherein no formal degree shall be required to be appointed as visiting faculty. Earlier Prof. Parkash C. Antahal delivered the welcome address and greeted the august gathering on the auspicious occasion. He elaborated the importance of this day of National Pride. He gave precise information regarding the history and process of India's becoming a great Republic. He expressed salutations to all the protagonists of Indian Freedom Struggle, because of whom we are able to celebrate these National Festivals as free citizens.
At the arrival of the Vice-Chancellor, Guard of Honour was presented by the Jammu University Security Guards led by Capt. S.R. Dubey, Chief Security Officer. Prof Vishav Raksha, Chairperson CCC, presented the vote of thanks whereas the programme was conducted by Sumeet Sharma. The event was conducted under guidance of Prof. Prakash. Antahal, Prof. Vishav Raksha, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof. Sanjana Kaul, Dr Anil Gupta, Associate Dean (SW), Dr. Garima Gupta and Dr. Pritam Singh, Assistant Dean(SW), Dr Shallu Sharma, Deputy Proctor (SW) & Dr A.R Manhas, Deputy Proctor (SW) and was coordinated by Mansi Mantoo, Ifra Kak, R.S. Bandral, Kulbhushan Thakur, Balwant Slathia and Arif Paul.
