Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Jan 27: 02 days Seminar on "community Policing" commenced today at SKPA. In the Seminar (22) officers of the rank of SI and Inspector of J&K Police participated. 02 days training programme on Community Policing is designed to meet the basic objectives of community policing like Community Policing, its importance -need of the millennium, Public participation in Policing to minimize the gap and built trust, Close Co-ordination with other Govt. Agencies involved in Community Policing, Police Community relationship for better society and Building trust with Citizens. Different guest faculty from Jammu University and faculty from SKPA will deliver lectures to the participants. On this occasion an inaugural function was organized, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, JKPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor) was the Chief guest. Shri Gupta welcomed all the course participants on behalf of Director SKPA Udhampur. In his inaugural address, Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta said that by means of community policing, it is possible for police to have flow of information prior to commencement of any crime. He also laid emphasis that the first and foremost duty of a police officer is to serve the society and country in a better possible manner while remaining continuously in contact with the public, so it is the primary duty of police organisation to work for the betterment of community.
