JU to Partner with Employment Dept, J&K to create better Job Opportunities | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 3: University of Jammu is willing to partner with the Department of Employment, J&K UT to create better job opportunities, said Prof Umesh Rai while interacting with Nisar Ahmed, Director, Department of Employment, J&K UT and his team. Director requested Vice-Chancellor for the participation of students of the University and its constituent/affiliated colleges in the Mega Job Fair being organized by the Department of Employment on 11th Feb 2023 at Toph Sherkhanian, Jammu. Speaking on occasion, Prof Rai said that Universities must respond to a fast-changing world and there is a need to revise the curriculum consistently to ensure that the courses are designed in line with the market requirement to ensure maximum employability of the youth. He further said today's youth should think of being job providers rather than job-seekers. VC on spot directed Prof Rajeev Rattan, Director, College Development Council, University of Jammu and Prof Vinay Chauhan, Dean Placement to ensure that all the teaching Departments of the University & constituent and affiliated colleges of the University of Jammu participate in the mega fair. Vice-Chancellor further urged that efforts should be made to invite Multinational Companies/recruitment agencies on the Campus on a quarterly basis to ensure the maximum placement of the University/College students. The Director, Department of Employment apprised that his department will share feedback from the companies with the University authorities in due course of time to enable the University to design its courses accordingly. Among others, Khalid Malik, Joint Director, Employment division Jammu and Dr Imran Farooq, Nodal Officer, Amrit Kaal were also present on the occasion. |
