Vishwa Bharati celebrated Shivratri

JAMMU, Feb 16: Vishwa Bharati Senior Secondary School Akalpur Morh, Jammu celebrated Maha Shivratri with great religious fervour and devout feelings for the Almighty God Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati. A special morning assembly was organised in which students sang devotional songs and verses dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The main programme was organised in the school auditorium where the management committee members J.L.Koul, President Vishwa Bharati Women's Welfare Institution, Dr. S.K.Koul Secretary Vishwa Bharati J&K Units, Yoginder Koul, B.L.Saraf, Bharati Bhat Principal Vishwa Bharati College of Education along with teachers and students were present. The programme was organised with the collaboration of Vishwa Bharati College of Education. In-charge Principal Sameer Bhat read the welcome address in the honour of all dignitaries. The programme commenced with Ganesh Vandana which was followed by a series of devotional hymns, verses and dance items by the students of college and school both.
Some students and teachers also delivered speeches on this pious occasion of shivratri celebrated as marriage of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati. They also threw light on the importance and greatness of the festival in Hinduism as well as in kashmiri perspective. The whole gathering gave ecstatic ovation to all the presentations fabulously displayed by the students.
J.L. Koul, President Vishwa Bharati Women's Welfare Institution in his short speech spoke about Shivratri and Lord Shiva, the supreme power of the universe. He advised the whole audience to follow the right path for sinless materialistic life to achieve supreme and spiritual Shiv Tatv.
The whole programme concluded with presenting of vote of thanks to the dignitaries by Chetna Sawhney and Aarti of Lord Shiva was sung.
