Salahuddin’s UJC conspires to keep pot boiling in Kashmir
2/16/2023 10:40:44 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 16: Even as partial shutdown was observed in some isolated parts of Kashmir on February 15, the intelligence agencies suspect hand of the dreaded United Jehad Council headed by wanted terrorist Syed Salah Ud Din.
Sources said the intelligence agencies have received inputs that the UJC had managed to circulate a poster asking the businessmen of Kashmir to observe a hartal in the Valley in wake of ongoing land eviction. The sources said security agencies are probing who from the Hurriyat Conference was involved in the nexus of calling for hartal and how.
Sources close to the security grid said the Jammu and Kashmir Police have accessed a provocative poster released by the UJC asking the people to observe the daylong strike call on the fateful day.
While most of the people stayed away from the hartal call and life remained at normal, a few hours of symbolic hartal was reportedly observed at isolated places.
The UJC has yet again tried to provoke the people against the Modi government for its historic decision of abrogation of the so called special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
It’s for the first time since the abrogation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir that an attempt has been made for shutdown call putting the security grid on tenterhooks.
“Till 2019, Kashmir would suffer from numerous hartals but since then there had been no hartals or hartal calls. So who conspired for hartal call on February 15? This needs to be probed thoroughly” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said the Jammu and Kashmir Police are investigating as to who all could be behind the hartal call. “If Hurriyat and UJC conspired to call for hartal who from within Kashmir were involved,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
It’s pertinent to mention that in the absence of the hartals, Kashmir has been witnessing a never before era of peace and prosperity with a record footfall over 1.5 crore tourists last year alone.
But Pakistan it is seems is allergic to the peace having returned to Kashmir and thus is using terror camps like the UJC to keep the pot boiling.
