Kavinder ridicules Mehbooba for demanding SF reduction, terms it prerogative of Union Govt | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 16: Kavinder Gupta, former Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has castigated the former Chief Minister and People's Democratic Party for demanding the reduction of in the presence of security forces (SF) in Jammu and Kashmir on a day when the valorous Indian troops foiled a major infiltration bid in Kupwara. Speaking to media personnel here today, the senior BJP leader said that it is quite ridiculous on the part of Mehbooba Mufti to bat for the said reduction of forces in the valley. She did not stop here but went further demanding taking back the land occupied by the forces that stands legally allotted to them for security and protection of the nation and the people especially to keep the people of the valley protected and secure from terrorists' onslaught. The former Deputy Chief Minister said that Mehbooba stands frustrated after losing the political space in the Valley and killing of terrorists and it is because of this she keeps on issuing unwanted and anti-India statements and speaking as if she is Pak Spokesperson. He said that she needs to be taught the constitutional mandates besides jurisdiction and powers distribution structure followed by the nation. Kavinder frowned upon Mehbooba saying that she does not even know that the power to decide on presence and number of troops in any area is within the jurisdiction of the Union Government as it is the most sensitive subject pertains to the security of the nation. In fact Mehbooba needs to accept that this issue is only and only the prerogative of the Govt in consultation with the nation's security experts and chiefs of various belt forces, he added. Kavinder Gupta said that Mehbooba Mufti is habitual of making statements against the Indian army and security forces. Most probably these statements are being issued by her at the instance of the rogue nation Pakistan for whom she has a soft corner, he said, adding that the Indian Army despite all odds is defending the borders and the nation and its people. |
