Rahul- Priyanka meet Kashmir leaders, Jammu Congress leaders annoyed
2/21/2023 11:13:14 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 21: Anger brewing among Jammu-based Congress leaders against ignoring them in the meeting convened at Gulmarg on Sunday.
Not even a single leader from the Jammu region was called to the meeting which was attended by former Congress Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and AICC general secretary incharge J&K Rajni Patel.
Although party leaders are stated that it was an informal meeting but presence of Rajni Patil in the meeting was a clear indication that she was especially called to attend the meeting.
Sources said that there is strong anger among Jammu-based Congress leaders for not inviting them in the meeting which was earlier fixed.
Wishing anonymity some Jammu-based Congress regretted they were intentionally ignored in the meeting in which Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were present.
“Rarely do we get such opportunities but it is very unfortunate that we were not allowed to attend the meeting with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra”, they said.
As reported earlier, after sparing some time from his ongoing personnel visit to the skiing resort Gulmarg, Rahul Gandhi joined by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadara conveyed an informal meeting with some selective Kashmir-based party leaders to discuss the prevailing political situation in J&K.
According to an official handout issued by the party on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi chaired a meeting of Party leaders of Kashmir and exhorted them to work for the betterment of people.
Gandhi expressed serious concern over the difficulties confronting people in absence of the democratic system in J&K while slamming the Govt for snatching the rights of people.
Speaking on the occasion AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi urged the party leaders to work hard to strengthen the Congress party at grass roots and perform their legitimate role to resolve people’s issues, for the fact, Congress Party is an instrument of service to the people.
AICC Incharge Rajni Patil (MP) and JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani apprised Rahul Gandhi about the organizational affairs and activities in J&K.
