Jammu, Mar 26: Giving a loud and clear message to opposition parties Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday that he was not initiating the pro-poor steps to get votes. “I am not here to contest elections or to do politics in Jammu and Kashmir. I am serving people with an aim to empower neglected and marginalized sections of society”, the Lieutenant Governor said while addressing the 450th Prakash Utsav of Goswami Shri Guru Nabha Dass Ji Maharaj today at Teachers Bhawan. Reiterating his resolve to extend pro-poor laws in the Union Territory, the LG announced that said the law will soon be enacted to provide a home to the homeless and land to landless people of J&K. The Lt Governor reiterated the commitment of the government towards the welfare of the last person on the ladder of development and harnessing their potential in building strong, Atmanirbhar Jammu Kashmir. “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inclusive growth is the focus of the administration. The historic decision of August 05, 2019 ended the decades-old discrimination against deprived sections of the society”, said the Lt Governor. “We are making sure that no individual or no section of society should be left behind in the development journey of Jammu Kashmir” the Lt Governor observed. |
