Cong leader accused of swindling Bharat Jodo Yatra funds deputed for Punjab bye-election

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 20: Apparently patronizing corruption and nepotism in the party, Congress leadership has deputed four leaders from Jammu and Kashmir for the bye-election of the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency.
Interestingly, the name of one of them was allegedly involved in swindling funds sanctioned for publicity during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
On April 19, Rajya Sabha member and the AICC secretary incharge of J&K and Ladakh Rajni Patil has written a letter to J&K Congress Committee chief Vikar Rasool Wani and asked him to depute four leaders for bye-election of Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat in Punjab.
Everybody in Congress circle is shocked to see the name of one of the accused in publicity scam was also figured in the list.
As reported earlier, one Harayna resident Anil Saini had alleged that some Congress leaders were not giving him the payment of branding during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Reports said that Anil Saini was engaged by the party for the branding of the Bharat Jodo Yatra in some northern states including Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K Congress has to pay an amount of Rs 13 lakh to Anil Saini but the party leaders, who had to make the payment, were dodging him.
Reports said that Saini was engaged in the branding and a contract was signed between him and the party. As per the contract, Congress promised to pay him Rs 15 lakhs for the branding. Except for a two lakh advance, nothing has been paid to Anil Saini, who is frequently visiting Jammu to get his balanced payment.
It was only after Anil Saini approached the media to highlight his plight, Congress leadership cleared his payment but no action has so far been taken against those who were involved in swindling the Bharat Jodo Yatra fund.
