MP Khatana asks BSNL Jammu to reframe 4G roll out plan
4/21/2023 10:24:50 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 21: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Rajya Sabha Er. Gulam Ali Khatana has expressed serious concern over the failure of the BSNL Jammu office to prepare a futuristic plan for the roll out of 4G services in Jammu region. He, however, congratulated team of BSNL Kashmir for planning 4G roll out keeping in view the needs of the present times and future expansion also to provide best services to its consumers.
MP Gulam Ali in a strong missive to CGMT J&K Sanjeev Tyagi said that it has come to our notice that 4G proposed BTs for Jammu division is far less as compared to its physical area i.e. more than 26000 Sq Kms besides hilly and mountainous districts including Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua.
He further said that as per the reports in the media, BSNL, Kashmir is going to provide 4G saturation to 181 uncovered villages/border villages and to provide contiguous 4G coverage to Kashmir valley, 3104, e-node B's are proposed. This project involves upgradation of existing 500 sites of BSNL and an addition of 2600 new sites. And this proposal is for Kashmir valley consisting of 15,000 sq km area.
Expressing concern over the poorly planned 4G roll out for Jammu region, Er. Gulam Ali said that the present proposal of around 600 4G BTs keeping in view the area, population and contiguity to enemy nation speaks of the unimaginative approach has cast serious aspersions on the working/competence of the BSNL team from Jammu. And BSNL team of Kashmir division must be commended for their futuristic planning to serve the people to the best of their ability.
He said that the uneven proposal of 4G BTs seems that 4G roll out in Jammu division will not be able to cater 4G services upto the mark. Kindly send new proposal for Jammu division on priority under intimation to the undersigned so that Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir emerges as a role model for other states/UTs of the country and BSNL subscribers in Jammu do not suffer because of BSNL official's inability to see the future needs of the area.
