Grand Shobha Yatra taken out to celebrate Parshuram Janmotsav in Akhnoor

Akhnoor, Apr 23: As Bhagwan Parshuram Janmotsav was celebrated today with a religious fervour, the grand Shobha Yatra was taken out in Akhnoor by Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Akhnoor. The Shobha Yatra, which consisted of tableaux on the mythical character of Bhagwan Parshuram started from Kameshwar Temple which passed through different bazaars of the town amidst chanting of religious slogans and Bhajans.
Besides important dignitaries and distinguished personalities, people from all walks of life took part in the Grand Shobha Yatra, which was received at different points enroute by various social and religious organizations.
The Yatra consisted of various tableaux on the events associated with Bhagwan Parshuram, Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, and others. Idols of Bhagwan Parshuram and other Hindu Gods, installed on decorated and open vehicles, were part of the Shobha Yatra which were followed by hundred of two wheelers and cars. Devotees in thousands participated in the Grand Shobha Yatra.
Padmashri Vishwamurti Shastri Ji was the Chief Guest of the occasion whereas Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma and Ex MLA Rajeev Sharma were the Special Guests and DDC Member Suresh Sharma, DDC Member Bhushan Bral, DDC Member Sharda Bhau were the Guest of Honors.
Chief Guest Padmashri Vishwamurti Shastri Ji enlightened the gathering about the history and importance of Bhagwan Parshuram. He in their address taught the present gathering to follow the path of Santan Dharma. Further he appealed to the gathered brahman samaj to wage a war against various social evils in the society. He said Brahman is one who has knowledge of both Shstra and Shastra. He called on the gathered people to acquire more and more knowledge and spread it among the society to make a well aware society and nation as a whole.
Pt. Suresh Shastri Ji recited devotional songs and bhajans mesmerizing the gathering with a religious and spiritual atmosphere. In his discourse, he threw light on the responsibilities of Brahmin
Earlier, in the morning Havan Yagya and Puja of Bhagwan Parshuram was performed according to Vedic and Sanatan rituals. Mahant Rameshwar Dass, SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat, SP Rahul Charak, Ranbir Singh, Joint Secretary DGPC Jammu and President Sant Baba Sunder Singh Ji Gurudwara Akhnoor, Advocate Abhinav Sharma, DySP KD Bhagat, DySP Bharat Sharma, DySP Mohan Lal Sharma, SHO Harjeet Singh, Rajinder Sharma, all brahman sarpanches and panches, all office bearers of the Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Akhnoor as well as president Ashok Shastri took part in the Shobha Yatra and associated celebrations.
