| Seri Khawaja, Bani road awaits completion since 2008 | | Residents seek LG’s intervention | |  Rajesh Tandon

Poonch, Apr 25: Residents of Seri Khawaja and Bani staged a joint protest here to demand early completion of the road connecting these two villages in this frontier district.
Protesters said the construction work of the said road had commenced in 2008 and till date it is incomplete.
The demonstration was led by locals, including Moulana Ghulam Ahmed and other prominent citizens.
While speaking to Early Times protesters said, “It’s unfortunate that we don’t have road connectivity in this modern era. It is unfortunate that the people are deprived of a road even in the 21st century.”
They have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Deputy Commissioner Poonch to take cognisance of the matter and resume the stopped construction work of the said road.
The Deputy Commissioner Poonch Mr. Inderjeet assured that the matter will be looked into. |
