J&K Wushu Association holds AGB meeting, elects office bearers
Counts achievements, vows to carry forward sport to new heights

JAMMU, Apr 25: The Annual General Body meeting of Wushu Association of J&K was held at Amar Singh Club Jammu. Advocate Anshuja Tak was appointed as Returning officer, she took the proceedings and held the elections of the Wushu Association of J&K as per the Sports code and the norms laid down by the J&K Sports Council.
The house was unanimously elected the office bearers of the Wushu Association of J&K for the next term.
Suhail Ahmed CEO Wushu Association of J&K was appointed as observer the Wushu Association of India. The meeting went through as per the agenda of the AGM.
Before proceedings, President of the Wushu Association of J&K welcomed returning officer, Observer from WAI and all the electorals of the Wushu Association of J&K for attending the meeting. He gave brief about the Wushu.
Ranjeet Kalra presented welcome address and he also briefed the house about the achievements and the road map plan for the future.
General Secretary Bhavneet read the report of the Wushu Association of J&K, She said that Wushu is the only sports in the UT J&K which has given the highest achievements like Asian Games medal, World Championship Meal and the Lone National Award "Dronacharya Award" In her report she said that 2020 was the remarkable year for the Wushu association of J&K, Wushu Association of J&K organised Senior National, Khelo India Sub-junior National Women's League and Zonal Level Khelo India Womens League with great success. This year Ayeera Chisti from Kashmir secured Bronze medal in the 7th Junior World Wushu championship in Indonesia and in the same year she was conferred with State Award for the outstanding sports person. In the 36th National Games held at Gujrat, Wushu gave Major share of medals in the Games out of 12 Medals for the UT J&K ion the games wushu gave 06 Medal including lone Gold medal by the Abhishek Singh Jamwal
In Senior National Wushu Championship held at Srinagar, UT J&K Wushu team remained overall 2nd in the championship.
She also apprised the house about the calendar of activities for the year 2023-24 moreover Wushu Association of J&K has bided for the India Open Wushu championship to be held in Srinagar in the current year.
