DC Jammu conducts extensive tour of Marh, Khour areas

JAMMU, May 3: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa today conducted an extensive tour of Block Marh and Khour where she listened to people's grievances as part of the weekly block Diwas and also reviewed the progress of development works.
During the first leg of her tour, the Deputy Commissioner visited panchayat Flora Nagbani in block Marh where she listened to the grievances of the locals and also inspected the development works.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the door to door waste collection process, composite pit, pink bathroom and napkin vending machine in Flora Nagbani Panchayat.
During the second leg of her tour, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated a dry waste management shed constructed under SBM followed by attending a Mahila Sabha at Panchayat Pallanwalan Lower. She also inspected the provision made for door to door garbage collection in both the Panchayats.
Emphasising upon the cleanliness, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officials and PRI members to focus on solid waste management as the waste material can be 90 percent recycled and reused.
Appreciating the PRI members, the Deputy Commissioner asked them to make people more aware regarding the advantages of clean and hygienic surroundings and also about the waste management.
She called for coordination and collaboration among the departments and PRIs to achieve desired development objectives besides timely intervention and action to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
She directed the officers to leave no stone unturned in order to provide maximum benefits to the people of welfare schemes started by the government
BDC Chairman Khour Balbir Singh Bhau, BDC Chairman Marh Surinder Kumar, ACD Preeti Sharma, SDM Khour Anil Kumar Thakur, SDM Marh Manu Hansa, DPO Daljit Singh, BDO Khour Sumit Suri, along with PRI members and other officials from concerned departments were present on the occasion.
