Reforms improve performance | | | After the abrogation of Article 370 the government has developed a mechanism to prevent backdoor appointments and the employees have been made accountable. The process of providing jobs to the aspirants has been made transparent and selections have been made on the basis of merit. Wherever any discrepancy has been found the entire process has been cancelled and a probe ordered. After Jammu and Kashmir’s transition into a Union Territory the government has shown zero tolerance against any kind of irregularity in the recruitment process undertaken by any recruiting agency. The recruiting agencies have been directed to ensure that the exercises to provide jobs are carried out in a fair and transparent manner. According to the officials nearly 25000 aspirants have been recruited in the various government departments during the past three years and the process is on to fill the vacant posts. Selections are purely based on the merit and recommendations are not entertained. Anyone who is eligible for a government job can apply and if he succeeds in cracking the written exams and the interview no one can stop him from serving the government. Besides recruitment process becoming transparent the work culture in the government offices has improved. The government employees have understood that they are being watched and they have to perform if they want to stick to their jobs. The employees have been made accountable. In J&K UT no employee can shriek the work as his responsibilities have been defined and chalked out. Service rules have been amended. Non-performing employees can be shown the exit door after being served a notice. During the past three years, J&K has witnessed major reforms in the administration. The message has been loud and clear that no nonsense will be tolerated. The reforms have led to the improvement in the performances of the employees. Performers are being assigned bigger roles and their efforts are being acknowledged. The new recruits are coming through proper channels. J&K has changed and has changed for the good. The transparency is being maintained and the performance of one and all is being monitored. |
