Apni Party may ‘lose’ neta | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 13: A prominent politician of the Apni Party led by Altaf Bukhari is likely to quit from the party soon. Sources said the said politician has been having strained relations with the party for the last few months and that he would announce his breakup from the party soon. The said politician had recently resigned from a key post in the youth wing and also dropped his affiliation from the party in his public profile. The politician, who also holds a key post in a municipal body in Kashmir, as per the sources, had not been having good relations with the party leadership over “compatibility issues” with his colleagues. Some of his party colleagues had openly confronted him on public forums over some issues “provoking him to tender resignation.” Source said the youth politician has also been having serious issues with the party leadership over the Assembly constituency being given to him as its incharge. The sources said politician is apprehensive about his victory from the constituency and thus wants some alternative. But the sources said the Apni Party has issues in giving any other constituency as there are “several senior leaders eyeing those vote banks and enjoy good public support there.” The sources said the politician is in touch with his close aide, who also happens to be the elected representative at the same civic body and that both of them look ahead to “explore future together.” “As of now both of them have been able to target some of the local politicians and thus their equation is quite visible in public circles,” said a source in the know of the matter. A senior leader at the Apni Party who spoke to the Early Times on the condition of anonymity said that there were some issues with the said politician but the same were being resolved. “At the moment he stands by us and targeted our rivals,” the leader said. |
