Early Times Report DODA, May 17: The Health Department of Doda District conducted a series of awareness events and special NCD (Non-Communicable Disease) camps to commemorate World Hypertension Day 2023. The initiative was led by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. A H Zargar. Under this year's theme, "Measure your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer," the activities aimed to emphasize the importance of prevention, early diagnosis, and management of hypertension. Dr. Zargar highlighted the significance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent hypertension, heart diseases, and strokes. He emphasized the availability of screening facilities and diagnostic tests at various health facilities, including Sub District Hospitals, NCD clinics, PHCs, and Sub Centres across the district. Health awareness and screening camps were organized throughout the district to educate individuals about hypertension, often referred to as the "silent killer." Attendees were advised on the importance of a balanced lifestyle and proper nutrition to maintain good health and prevent hypertension, as well as other lifestyle-related diseases.
