Kishtwar Police search houses of terrorists operating from Pak, initiates property seizure | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, May 17: In a major crackdown against local terrorists operating from Pakistan, Kishtwar police conducted searches today in the houses of five terrorists in Kishtwar town and its surrounding areas. The searches, carried out with warrants obtained from the NIA court, are aimed at collaborating property shares of terrorists with revenue records collected by the police. During the several-hour-long searches, officials examined various documents, including land records, and inquired about the source of funds used to construct and accumulate movable and immovable properties. The investigation is part of a terror-related case, and the accused militants are charged under relevant sections of the IPC and UAPA. SSP Kishtwar Mohammad Khalil Poswal, the Chief Investigation Officer, approached the Special NIA Court to obtain Non-Bailable Warrants against the accused terrorists. It is alleged that these terrorists were actively involved in terror activities to create unrest in the Chenab Valley and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The police claim they mobilized sleeper cells and collaborated with secessionist and separatist leaders to wage war against the Government of India. The Kishtwar police has also initiated the process of seizing the properties of militants currently residing in Pakistan or POK. Additionally, they are preparing a dossier to seek Interpol’s assistance in apprehending these terrorists. SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal stated that the collected evidence from the searches will be investigated to establish the involvement of the accused in anti-national activities and terrorism. Any supporters or associates of the militants discovered during the investigation will also face prosecution. |
