Srinagar, June 1: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, visited the Yatra Transit Camp at Panthachowk to oversee and assess the arrangements made for the upcoming annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2023. The DC inspected the facilities and services provided at the camp, including water supply, electricity, sanitation, and accommodation. He directed the concerned departments to ensure necessary infrastructure improvements, such as road repairs and fencing, and to augment the available space for accommodating the yatries. The DC emphasized proper power supply, cleanliness, and sanitation, and instructed the installation of dustbins throughout the camp. The Chief Medical Officer was tasked with ensuring adequate healthcare facilities, while the NRLM officers were directed to set up stalls for local Self Help Groups. The DC also discussed the registration process and instructed the SDM East to ensure a hassle-free experience for the yatries. Accompanied by senior officials, the DC’s visit aimed to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming yatra. |
